Anthroposcream 2025 Finalist Northern Beaches Environmental Art Prize, 2025. MAG&M The title "Anthroposcream" merges "Anthropocene" with "Scream," referencing Edvard Munch's iconic artwork, The Scream. This diptych captures my intense emotional response to the Anthropocene—an epoch defined by human impact on the planet's future. Framed on a painted canvas mounted in a petrochemical surrounding, figures appear osseous and spectral and dissolve into a liminal space between presence and absence. Their forms have been stripped down by time, appearing calcified and juxtaposed against a backdrop of dark ecological decay. This imagery reflects environmental collapse and the silent anguish of witnessing ecocide.
